TAMILNADU SET 2017: NOTIFICATION FOR TAMILNADU STATE ELIGIBILITY TEST FOR ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

Taminadu SLET 2017: On behalf of UGC, Mother Teresa Women’s University, Kodaikanal (MTWU), Tamil Nadu has announced a notification to conduct the State Eligibility Test (TNSET-2017) on 21.02.2017 (SUNDAY) for determining the eligibility for Assistant Professor in Tamil Nadu Universities and Colleges.  The MTWU (Mother Teresa Women’s University) will conduct TNSET-2017 in 25 subjects at 16 selected Exam Centres spread across the state. Eligibility :- 

Candidates who have secured at least 55% of marks (without rounding off) for General category and 50% for Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes (MBC) / Denotified Communities (DNC) / Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Disability (PWD-VH/PH), in Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from any universities / institutions recognized by UGC New Delhi, in subjects like Science, Humanities (including languages), Social Science, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic science etc., are eligible to appear for TNSET 2017 exam.

 

However, Candidates who have appeared (OR) will be appearing at the Master’s Degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited (OR) candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed can also appear for this test.

 

How to Apply Online:-

The Candidates whoever wanted to apply for TNSET 2017 exam are requested to open (browse) the website www.setexam2017.in. After filling all the details in the online application form for applying online for TNSET-17, the candidate will have the option to select the mode of payment of examination fee either by credit/debit card or through net banking during the online filling of the application form.

 

SCHEME AND DATE OF TEST:

i) The TNSET 2017 exam will consist of three papers. All the three papers should consist of only objective type questions and will be held on 23.04.2017 (SUNDAY) in three separate sessions as under:

Paper-I shall consist of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate. Sixty (60) multiple choice questions will be there in the Paper-!, and  2 marks for each question, The candidate would be required to answer any 50 out of 60 available. If any candidate attempted more than 50 questions, the first 50 questions attempted would be evaluated.

Paper-II shall consist of 50 objective type compulsory questions from the subject selected by the candidate. Each question will be given  2 marks.

Paper-III will consist of 75 objective type compulsory questions from the subject selected by the candidate. Each question will be given  2 marks.

 

The Result of TNSET 2017 examination (to be held on 23.04.2017) will be published on the websites: www.setexam2017.in as and when declared. The candidate will not be individually intimated about their result .
